The Native Vote Washington Digital Communications Associate supports Native Vote Washington’s social media presence, prepares and organizes emails, manages website content, and supports additional Washington Conservation Action organizational communications needs.

Washington Conservation Action is a statewide environmental advocacy organization that advances environmental policies and pushes for actions that equitably address climate pollution, restore Puget Sound, sustain our state’s forests, and protect our democracy. Native Vote Washington is a 100% Indigenous-led collaborative, serving Indigenous communities across the state of Washington. The Native Vote Advisory Board provides guidance to the development and implementation of this Indigenous-led political power building project and serves as advisors and champions for the project. In 2025, Native Vote WA and the Native Vote WA Education Fund became a permanent program of Washington Conservation Action and Washington Conservation Action Education Fund, to increase the capacity of the project to operate year-round; and is now a permanent program within WCA.
Washington Conservation Action is based downtown Seattle. Our team of nearly 50 works in a flexible hybrid model, with staff working from home in addition to in-office time for collaboration and celebration. Responsibilities
The responsibilities for this position are primarily focused on supporting Native Vote Washington’s communication needs, including social media management, email and text management, and website updates. This position will serve on Washington Conservation Action’s communications team and support various digital communications and visual communications needs. This role is primarily responsible for utilizing a strong racial equity lens in communications for Native Vote Washington and Washington Conservation Action that supports our organizational goals to protect people and nature as one.
- Native Vote Washington social media strategy and content creation, and posting to various social media channels, including Instagram, LinkedIn, Facebook, and TikTok.
- Copywriting for social media and content creation for various emails and texts communicating about Native Vote Washington.
- Maintaining a monthly email newsletter to the Native Vote Washington audience.
- Provide live and timely digital and social media support at various events throughout the year across the state, or virtually.
- Provide critical support and updates on the Native Vote Washington and Washington Conservation Action websites.
- Support digital communications on email campaigns on Canva.
- Lead on internal communications, including our internal newsletter, Wayfinder.
- Ensures principles of tribal sovereignty, racial and social equity are infused in our communications and serves on a racial equity work group.
- Supporting Washington Conservation Action communication needs and projects, as needed.
Required Skills
- Commitment to environmental protection and principles of tribal sovereignty and racial, social, and economic justice.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of volunteer or professional experience in digital communications.
- Demonstrated ability in education or outreach communications.
- Ability to maintain a flexible schedule that will include some evening and weekend work.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines simultaneously and meet deadlines while working across teams and at all levels of the organization.
- Can work both independently and effectively across teams to ensure effective, coordinated, and efficient processes.
- Understanding of social networking tools and trends including Instagram, Facebook, X, TikTok and Reddit.
- Understanding of WordPress and other website platforms.
- Ability to use Canva and other simplified visual communications tools.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with multiple coalitions.
- Some familiarity with the Voter Activation Network (VAN) or Votebuilder, Salesforce, or similar database platforms and field tools.
- Social media campaign experience on a variety of platforms.
- Knowledge of environmental issues and/or Washington state politics
- English, though fluency in other languages is welcomed.
- For remote work, employees must maintain a workspace with an internet connection where they can reliably perform work during scheduled work
Compensation and Benefits
This is a full time, exempt position with a salary of $56,000. We also offer a generous benefits package including 100% employer paid medical and dental premiums, 401k plan and organizational match of up to 3% of your annual salary, a flexible spending account, four weeks of paid vacation, 8 hours of sick leave accrued per month, thirteen paid holidays per year, an unlimited ORCA transit pass, $1000 per year for professional development, annual wellness benefit, work from home reimbursement and if you work for five consecutive years you are eligible for a two-month paid sabbatical. Location Information
This position is hybrid (minimum of 40% in the Seattle office) but we will consider an option for being fully remote for those located within Washington State, but outside of mass transit options to our Seattle office. This job will involve occasional travel to in-person meetings and staff gatherings at the discretion of the supervisor.

COVID-19
The organization follows all requirements of local health authorities. We are currently working in hybrid remote work model with staff working from home in addition to in-office time for collaboration and celebration. We maintain strict safety protocols while in our office. All staff who come to the office must be fully immunized against COVID-19.
