Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference
The world continues to experience the frightening reality of the climate crisis: wildfire, hurricanes, historic flood events, drought, and the devastating effects of environmental racism. The urgency of this moment requires us to imagine new ways forward. The Pacific Northwest’s forests, if managed intentionally with this new reality in mind, can be powerful tools for carbon storage, ecosystem services, community resilience, and environmental justice. At WEC, we continue to explore and support both innovative and traditional approaches to ecological forestry, learning from the lived experiences of all of Washington’s communities.
