2023 Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference

Washington Conservation Action hosts our Seventh Annual Carbon Friendly Forestry Conference! This year, the conference will be a series of virtual events held on November 1, 8, and 15 from 1-5PM. We will wrap up the conference with an in-person happy hour. More details to come.

While we are still finalizing the agenda, this year’s conference includes presentations and conversations on topics such as community forestry, climate-smart wood supply chains, wildfire, carbon offsets, connections between forestry and water flows, state lands, and forest carbon science. With this breadth of topics, we hope to encourage forest management that looks beyond a single objective and recognizes the complexity and interconnectedness of forest ecosystems and our relationships with them.

Who should plan to attend?

We welcome practitioners, policymakers, decision-makers, landowners, civil society, wood supply chain companies, academics, and community members whose work connects to forest management or carbon sequestration.

Registration Costs:

  • Business and Industry Representatives: $150
  • Nonprofit, Public Sector, and Tribal Government or Employees: $75
  • Students and Community Members: $35

We are committed to keeping our event financially accessible and this rate has been reduced from the previous in-person conference rate of $165. This year’s fee supports our speakers with a small honorarium and covers the cost of the online platform and conference production.

We acknowledge that in these challenging times some may want to attend who are unable to pay any fee. If this applies to you, please email Bryan Pelach, State Forestlands Program Manager at bryan@waconservationaction.org for accommodation before registering.
