Aida (she/they) is a dedicated organizer and digital communications professional with over five years of experience, focusing on advancing systemic change that eliminates barriers necessary for all humans and non-humans to flourish in coexistence. They have professionally served multiple climate and conservation non-governmental organizations across the United States working to advance environmental and climate justice policies in federal, state, and local governments. Since graduating, Aida has worked for the League of Conservation Voters, Climate Power, Michigan LCV, Washington Conservation Action, and the Kalamazoo Climate Crisis Coalition.

Activism beyond professional experiences is important to her. Aida is involved in the labor movement, particularly with the Evergreen Workers Union. They are an organizer with the Seattle cohort of Remake advocating against the exploitation of garment workers, particularly women in the Global South. In her pursuit of personal growth and challenging dominant perspectives, Aida is interested in exploring abolitionist, anti-capitalist, and community-centric (mutual aid) approaches to address race, class, and gender disparities during the climate emergency.

Aida holds dual bachelor’s degrees: a Bachelor of Sciences in Earth Science and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental and Sustainability with a minor in Psychology from Western Michigan University. Born and raised on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, Aida now lives in Seattle, Washington with her kitty, Noodle.
