About Me
Growing up in Michigan near the Great Lakes fostered Lauren’s motivation to protect and defend natural resources. She earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in communication from Michigan State University and dedicated her graduate research to environmental justice. Her background in strategic communications, community outreach, and project management focuses on environmental and social justice issues. Lauren believes environmental progress is only effective when it centers on the perspectives of the people most impacted by pollution.
As the Foundation Relations Senior Manager, Lauren builds relationships that help resource and fund meaningful work at Washington Conservation Action and Washington Conservation Action Education Fund.
Lauren lives in Olympia and loves supporting climate and environmental justice organizing in her community. She serves on the Thurston Climate Mitigation Collaborative Community Advisory Workgroup—alongside 15 other community members—and uses her position to advocate for equitable and effective climate action in Thurston County.
Outside work you can find Lauren searching for a well-spiced chai latte, skiing at White Pass, or hiking with her dog, Juniper.
