About Me
Oskar Zambrano is an accomplished nonprofit leader and government affairs consultant with over 15 years of experience in nonprofit advocacy, public policy, government affairs, and community organizing. He is the founder and CEO of Somos Más Community Strategies, a consultancy that supports nonprofits and BIPOC community leaders in advancing their advocacy and public policy goals. His work focuses on empowering Spanish-speaking and Latino communities and promoting systemic change through an equity lens.
At Washington Conservation Action (WCA), Oskar serves as the Board Secretary and is a key member of the Political, BIPOC Equity, and Executive Committees. In these roles, he leverages his extensive experience in coalition building, civic engagement, and leadership development to advance WCA’s mission of environmental progress and justice across Washington State. Oskar is passionate about creating inclusive systems that amplify the voices of communities of color, particularly in the environmental justice movement.
Born in Mexico and raised as an undocumented immigrant in California, Oskar’s journey in advocacy began early as a champion for immigrant rights, including his pivotal role in the successful passage of the DREAM Act in California. His personal experiences have shaped his commitment to addressing the intersectionality of social, economic, and environmental issues, especially in Eastern and Central Washington.
In addition to his work with WCA, Oskar co-founded Cocone Yoli, a nonprofit organization providing educational and social services to children in Puebla, Mexico. His advocacy is rooted in community-led organizing and a deep commitment to social equity.
When not advancing important causes, Oskar enjoys spending time outdoors with his family, exploring the natural beauty of Nature.
