What We Do
Forests
Forests are vital to the health of Washington’s communities and ecosystems. They clean our air, filter sediment and pollutants from our water, prevent flooding and landslides, sequester carbon, and are places of cultural importance. Forests also provide jobs, wildlife habitat, wood products, and recreation opportunities. Here at Washington Conservation Action, much of our work focuses on ensuring that working forests — the forests in which timber is harvested — are managed sustainably and continue to provide numerous benefits for all of the residents of the Evergreen State. If we take care of our forests, they will take care of us.
